I was hesitant about getting this lens cos 31mm was a range that I hardly used in APS-C format. I pulled the trigger and I couldnt be happier with the decission. I wish I kept one of my film bodies to use it in a FF camera but it is now fixed in one of my bodies everytime I go to the forest. Sharpness and contrast are superb. It has some CA but it isnt the worst case I have seen.
Long story short, it is a lens that cant dissapoint.

Pentax has made several gems and this is definitely one of them! The FA limited lenses are such a beauty and definitely a nice collection to all Pentax users!
Recently tested the lens on a Pentax K20D and found the focusing to be very fast. The downside is that it is noisy as well. 31mm delivers very pleasant viewing angle, which is what I would prefer over a 50mm lens.
Solidly built yet very small and compact in lens. Pentax has managed to put AF motor into such small lens, definitely recommended.
