Description: Pentax introduces the Pentax Super Program in year 1983, the first in a series of programmed cameras with six modes or six ways to shoot: programmed, aperture priority, shutter priority, metered manual, programmed auto flash and TTL auto flash. Today the Super Program is thought to be the camera that served as a bridge between conventional mechanical cameras and today's high-tech models. Later in the year Pentax designs a new motor drive system for the Super Program called Motor Drive A. It features dual shutter releases for horizontal and vertical camera positions and single frame or continuous operation.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Fully automatic everything but focus. Also fully manual
Cons: No autofocus

This was the top of the line Pentax program camera. It works auto (never autofocus), shutter priority, apperture priority, manual, etc.

This is a small, light, reliable camera.

There are motor and autowind grips available. They make the camera larger and heavier, but they work. Most of the time the motor is off the camera.

Has stood up to a lot of work in the field with no complaints. Seems always to be accurate

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Excellent electronics and it all works
Cons: Mirror makes a clunky noise when moving.

It's a bit heavy. It would be so nice to have a digital version of this.......
