Positive aspects of the product (pros): Small, can work with no battery, does everything manually
Cons: No automation

This light weight, superbly crafted gem was Pentax's initial foray into the "system" for professionals area.

Well made and highly reliable, it was many photographers' favorite camera.

Combined with Pentax M lenses, this provides a lightweight tool for photography.

All Pentax lenses work on the MX. Just don't expect any automation (or changing aperture in the camera).

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Build quality
Cons: none

One of the best and most used cameras I owned. Wish they still made it. On par with nikon FM3A.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Mechanical and hugely reliable
Cons: None

Fantastic photographic tool. No need for spare baterries or chargers for pretty well all aspects of the camera to operate. Well balanced, expecially with the winder. Great device and well deserving of a 10.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great to hold and use - maybe a manual camera but very intuitive to use with a great metering sysyem
Cons: They stopped making it!

It was an MX or OM1 and fortunately I didn't stray from the true path. Just a simply superb photographic tool

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Wonderful viewfinder, interchangeable screens, good meter. With winder and a fast lens a great street camera.
Cons: My example tends to discharge the meter cell in only a few days.

My father owned an Asahiflex and several lenses, so I knew of Pentax from an early age. It seemed natural to buy a used MX from KEH, then the Mighty L
X, and now the K10d. I hope to have his Asahiflex and ME-Super repaired so I can catch a blast from the past with Kodachrome, before it goes away.
