Positive aspects of the product (pros): High quality build, SR is wonderful, many professional features, nice heft for steadier shooting, great viewfinder
Cons: some niggles, really no cons

This is the best camera I have ever owned in nearly sixty years of photographing. For a surprisingly low cost one gets a camera that makes the Nikon D200 look over its shoulder with surprise. Quality in every respect. With this camera Pentax has reached its former glory...great glass, great DSLR and very happy and loyal customers who can use the lenses from the Pentax cameras they were using in the 60's and the 70's as well as the newest super glass. Well done Pentax for developing this exquisite photographic tool!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Ergonomic heft, Uses ALL my old Pentax lenses,
Cons: Heavy

It's a nine because of the weight.
This is a photographer's camera, from the seals, shake reduction, ease of setting, through the telemetry presentation. The K10D takes the pictures the way I choose and always tells me what it knows about the settings.
Best Pentax DSLR I've ever handled. Almost every control is intuitive and just feels like that's where it should be.
Picture quality is only limited by lens quality and user capability.
I did not find any softness after setting the camera to my taste (picky).
Works with my old Pentax lenses the same way they worked on their original destination cameras.
Go for the grip!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Performer at an affordable price with ability to use almost all old range of lenses
Cons: Not that i can think of now except the VPN and HPN which is a norm in dSLR

From Olympus E-500, i switched over to this lovely dSLR with pro features without looking back.
The whole range of accessories made for this model cater to photographers who are looking for good, durable dSLR: battery grip, magnifying diopter, remote, focus screen... almost complete range to compete with the 2 big names.
Love the ability to use back old lenses way back from 70s if you have one, allowing one to form a good array of legacy lenses which is still much sought after or available relatively cheaply.
One point down to hit a full ten is the range of new lenses from Pentax is taking a little too long to reach the market. However, i guess one can keep himself/herself busy toying with the good old Takumar/SMC ranges of lenses while waiting for new series of lenses from Pentax.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): It's a great photographer's tool. Huge feature set
Cons: None found yet

I have had the camera for 50 days now. As each day goes by I learn to have more and more respect for what the Pentax engineers have accomplished with this camera.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great controls, good image quality and speed
Cons: Auto-white-balance sucks indoors, underexposes a bit too often

This camera has an awesome feature set. I really like that the controls are easy to change and that having to use the menu is a rare thing (only needed for WB day-to-day). The shake-reduction helps with low-light shots but not as much as I'm used to (previously had a KM 7D). My biggest complaint with the K10D is that under indoor lights, the WB leaves an strong orange/yellow cast. It also requires more EC than most cameras since it underexposes regularly.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Entry DSLR price with Pro DSLR features
Cons: Lack of new lenses

This is my first DSLR after 2 year using a Canon S2IS. At first I was looking at the DSLR of this brand, the 400D, but I have changed my mind almost instantly when I found out about this 'ultimate machine'!....Being the proud owner of Pentax K10D for about 2 months and never regret......

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Features and ease of use (smart design!)
Cons: None

I previously used Oly digital SLR's (also good equipment) and have played around with C/N but nothing comes close to the K10. For some reason, I suffer none of the niggles read on the various sites. No colour casts, undereposure or anything of the kind. In my view absolutely great tool.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): almost everything
Cons: too easy to knock the focus selection switch when zooming the lens

Great camera, I like the extra weight. It just needs better Pentax lenses to go with it.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): sensor cleaning, shake reduction, splash and dust resistant, lens compatibility backwards
Cons: battery state shows full all the way but then suddenly shows half level and empty within a few seconds, no focus light but flash helps, you have to use both fingers at the same time to change ISO, RAW button doesn't let you choose RAW or JPEG you can choo

Ergonomic, heavy and big enough to be stabile in my large hands, the Mode Dial has 10 positions but there is no any ready made choise besides green mode for newbie chicks.
Don't be fooled as if it will do everything for you; it's just an excellent camera. You should know how, where and when to use it.
I rated 9 because, I'll keep the 10 for his FF brother.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Excellent picture quality and ergonomics
Cons: Learning curve needed

Excellent features and image quality.
Excellent ergonomics (hardware buttons) but not so easy software menues.
So many options and parameters available so a learning curve is needed.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): High quality and durability
Cons: Poor low light performance

I shopped around quite a bit before buying this camera. A week earlier I bought a Canon xTi but was disappointed with the features and returned it. When I got the K10d I was very pleased with the daylight performance, but indoors you always need a flash. I was told the Promaster 7600DX works with the K10D. IT DOES NOT!! The Promaster 7599 EDF will be released for the K10D in Jan or Feb 08. I hate using tripods but bought a very light weight full size tripod with segment locks and keep it in my camera bag. You cannot use the tripods with telescoping pull out legs due to the weight of the camera. The telescoping legs need to be able to lock. Quite honestly, for indoor shots I use my Canon A640. I think the K10D s features far outweigh its shortcomings. I use it in a studio and non studio setting. One you get the feel of the settings and how to control the lighting the photo quality is superb. It definitely beats out the Canon 40D which is supposed to be a pro camera. I look forward to the K10d replacement but with the Hoya merger who knows if pentax will continue to produce new DSLRs. They definitely need to come out with a weather sealed lens in the 18-200 range with a f stop of 2 or 2.8. Enjoy your K10D as much as I do. I'm off to Sams to buy a Kodak V1253!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Viewfinder far superior to Canikon competition. With battery grip very well balanced.
Cons: Original screen poor for manual focus lenses. Some issues with low light autofocus

Unlike Canon, and to a lesser degree Nikon, (Canon abandoned a lens mount and Nikon's compatibility is fraught with difficulties) the K10d can use ANY Pentax lens, save the ancient 37mm Asahiflex glass. After I installed a Katz screen focusing fast manual lenses is easy, even my 50mm f1.2. What a pity that the true TTL flash system used in the first Pentax DSLR wasn't continued. The K10d would have been wonderful with the AF400T flash unit I bought for my LX. What continues to surprise me is how easy it is to get big enlargements with the K10d, even compared to the same lenses mounted on the LX. Digital does seem to have some advantages.
