This lens does about 70% of my shooting, and does it well. I have the 50mm F1.4 which is generally considered sharp, and photos with the 16-45 compare very well with it. Some say it is a bit short, and I myself would like it to go to 55mm at the tele end, but this is often a matter of a couple of steps closer...and a couple of steps back are sometimes a lot harder! Oh, and it will sub for a macro when you are traveling light.
