 I purchased this lenses used (3 months old). I use it primarly for wildlife shots. It has a decent reach at 400mm. The lens is very sharp throughout its range (135-400). Contrast and colour is excellent with this lens. The autofocus is fast and efficient (for not be SDM). I compared this lens to the Sigma Bigma 50-500mm zoom and felt it was a bit sharper, shorter, and lighter. It appears that Sigma is not longer producing this lens (word is they will replace it with an SDM model, same focal range)
