I am not sure if this is the right place for this topic, however I need to find out if there is any other tethered software for the K20d other than remote assistant as I find it to a crappy piece of software. If then is any other software can anybody help and also provide instructions to set it up. Capture one 5 pro indicate that one can use it but I cannot get the software to recognise my K20d. I have read one can use Photo mechanic and also light room however I cannot get these packages to work. Please help!!!

Hi Michael,

I would imagine that the programs you mentioned needs a driver installed to allow them to communicate and work with your camera. I would recommend contacting the individual software manufacturers and put the question to them.

I have used the remote assistant once or twice just to try it out. I wanted to see if there was any advantage when shooting macro images. I think it does have merit. I could see it being useful for team sports photos (the type where a photographer will take team photos for an association). The software was a bit clumsy, but perhaps work flow may improve once you got using it.

Michael please keep us posted on your developments in this regard. I am sure that many of us would be interested in trying some different software options.

Thanks Spyglass. The main problem I have with Remote assistant is the fact that you cannot enlarge the view panel and therefore cannot get a full screen photo like in Nikon camera pro or the remote software for Canon. I have send an e-mail to Phase one pro to see if I can get Capture one pro to work. I manage to get light room to work in some sort of way but the same problem is evident. I cannot get the picture to enlarge to full screen. I will wait for the reply from Phase one. Will keep you posted.

Maybe I should switch to Canon or Nikon.............................Not serious LOL
