Hi Alantan,

Not many dealers in Malaysia want to take Pentax stock, that is why hard to find in Malaysia.

Hey Kho King,

Thanks for the quick reply...i have been using Pentax for 3 years now..started with Ist*DL and now equiped with
K20D and pentax lenses(SDM series)

Although i am very dissapointed with Pentax distribution in Malaysia but it is only in malaysia that pentax is rare and overwhelm by canon, nikon, sony and olympus...

which in a way(self-denial) make pentax a very exclusive machine. hahahahha

regards,
alan tan

Hi Pentax Users!
I'm DLee and have been using Pentax since the days of film photography - my last film camera was the Pentax SFXN (sort of predecessor to the K-7). When Pentax went digital in early 2005 (I think), I eagerly bought the ist DS and was very satisfied with its light weight (I carried it in my pouch on my bike rides to Thailand) and general performance, tho' focussing in dim light was a bit difficult. 2 mths ago I bought the K-7. Very satisfied with it.
Yes, I agree that Pentax is poorly represented and marketted in Malaysia. Perhaps the new distributors should wake up and do their part.

Yes, DSC should up its marketing & promotion of Pentax stuff - be it PnS, dSLR, lenses, accessories etc.

Otherwise Pentax may dwindle as many consumer will ask - "Pentax what" ??

I wish the Malaysia distributor do some road show, some photo shooting activities for pentax users to promote the brand.

PENTAX DSLR has great features and nice quality. Make the owner proud and invites more users by Proudly and Loudly showing off the gears in those popular spots!

I Love my K-x. I always recommend it to others the fact that PENTAX accessories are not easily available in Malaysia really is an annoying factor

No doubt Pentax is a very experience camera's manufacturer. But I think they are loosing it in the marketing division.

Am I right if I said, they are only giving everything they've got in their DSLR but have not taken care the snap shooters?

I went to Low Yatt plaza a few month ago. When I asked for Pentax camera, the tauke said.. Aiyaa.. Pentax aaa.... cannot sell lah that camera.........

You cannot sell a good camera? No, I do not think so. Pentax will have to figure it out.... why their cameras are not accepted by Malaysian................

I am not sure what their real problems are but they may need to do something about it. I said "may need" because they may not want to do so if they are satisfied with their business performance. It will have to be Pentax own decision................

The inexperience Samsung can do it, there are no reasons why Pentax can't!
