Let me add "Canceled" products in development stage.

K-1 and EI-2000, you can see in this article. They are now concentrating for 645Digital, but after that, we can expect once abundant K-1d? Shocked

K-1 has a very menacing look ... the top displays and dials are slanted to the users view instead of conventional top view. Looks bigger than the competitor top model version.

The K-1 was based on the semi pro 35mm MZS and was to come with a full frame 6MP CCD. It would have been a direct competitor to the Contax N1 digital. Unfortunately it never saw the light of day, presumably because of the excessive cost of the the sensor. THe N1 never did Contax much good, they hardly sold any and went belly up not too long after bringing it to market.

Note the interesting thing: in 2003 and 2004 there was 1 new camera per year, in 2005 there were 2, in 2006 there were 3! The Digital Train ir rolling down the hill!! In film years companies made 1 new SLR per year and for their flafship models even one per 2-3 years and those cameras were big steps forward. Now, they put in every new small thing and there is another "best ever" camera Smiley. That sad...

2007 - will there be 4 new cameras? Or the Hoya Pentax merger taking its toll on introducing of new cameras.

I think K-1 was awesome, but a good call it never went to production, don't think it would've sold as many as the K10D!!!!

I'm guessing the next Pentax DSLR will be more like the new Sony A700... Only better... of course  Grin

I saw the ME Super in that discontinued list.  I'm sure the ME Super made it out.  I had an ME, and I'm almost sure that my mentor owned an ME Super.

I think the forum can add the K200D, K20D and K-M model to the original list as posted by khoking.
